Cycling

Arran is a popular place for cycling and  Bike hire is available in Brodick from Arran Bike Hire or Arran Adventure.

We have an information sheet for cyclists coming to visit Arran in GROUPS, and this is available by contacting VisitArran directly. Groups of cyclists should also contact CalMac in advance advising of preferred sailings, as space on some ferries may be limited.

Advice and routes for both ON and OFF ROAD CYCLING can be found at www.arranbikeclub.com.  Cycling on Arran can be challenging and we do advise that you consult these leaflets and select routes which are suitable for the ages and abilities of your party before setting off.

Whilst many of Arran’s roads are hilly, the coast road from Machrie to the north of the island is nearly all flat and quiet all the way to Lochranza, and so it is an easy and enjoyable cycling route. You might want to catch the Lochranza ferry with your bike and cycle down to Skipness Castle and Seafood Shack (please note this is seasonal only, and doesn't open on Saturdays!).

You can also contact the Arran Taxi Company  or Arran Tours if you need transport for you and your bike.
