Beauty Spots

Beauty spots on Arran are hard to define – well, isn’t the whole island one great big beauty spot??!

To start with there’s views – nearly everywhere on Arran you can see the most stunning scenery – whether that’s looking over the Firth of Clyde towards the Kyles of Bute, or looking up at the mountain range with Goatfell in the foreground as you sail into Brodick Bay.

Specific beauty spots include the fabulous Glenashdale Falls, Machrie Standing Stones, King's Cave and of course Brodick and Lochranza Castles.

Wildlife spots on Arran are aplenty – for example, seal spotting on the Corrie shore or down at Kildonan.  Or how about deer watching up around Lochranza?  Lovely little red squirrels are all over Arran, but the best place to spot them is in woodland areas, such as Brodick Castle gardens – and did you know we have no grey squirrels on Arran at all, only red, which is why they are thriving.

If it’s bird watching then walking along one of Arran’s long beaches will provide sightings of many species of seabirds – sea eagles have even been spotted on Arran’s coastline.

If you want to take in some breath-taking scenery, why not wander up into the hills to see birds of prey galore, from golden eagles to hen harriers.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder – so behold!
