Seagrass Kilbride Road Lamlash KA27 8LJ

Situated in the village of Lamlash, this detached cottage has been fully renovated in 2021 and offers brand new modern kitchen/dining room, brand new bathroom and en-suite, new flooring throughout and furnished to a high standard. Outside there is a garden that is not enclosed, but has a sitting-out area with furniture. The property is well-equipped for children, with a baby bath seat, multi-sports kids table (foosball/pool/ice hockey/table tennis) and a baby bouncy chair. For a unique experience, take a small ferry over to the Holy Isle and you will discover a friendly Buddhist community, where animals roam freely, including Saanen goats and Eriskay ponies. Lamlash Bay also offers sea kayaking and powerboat trips, so you can explore the bay at your own pace. Local wildlife includes seals, often seen basking on rocks just offshore, otters, porpoises, and a variety of sea birds. A couple of miles south of the cottage, you will find the village of Whiting Bay with a friendly, relaxed atmosphere and a useful range of small independent shops. Local amenities include Arran Art Gallery with a pretty courtyard garden, a golf course, pitch & putt, and community activities throughout the season. A family-friendly forestry trail leads to the spectacular Glenashdale Falls and the prehistoric Giant’s Graves. For refreshments, Felicity’s at Bar Eden, and The Shore both offer a vibrant spot for morning coffee and a tasty bite. Beach ¼ mile.

Quirky Island Fact

#20 - Arran has Scotland's First No Take Zone
The Community of Arran Seabed Trust (COAST) is a local charity and was established in 1995 by local divers, Howard Wood and Don McNeish, who had noticed the depletion of species on the seabed. The No Take Zone at the north end of Lamlash, was eventually created, after much campaigning, in 2008, and COAST were instrumental in then establishing the Marine Protected Area (MPA) which covers the coast around the south of Arran.
